...be a tragedy.

I have been inactive for a while, then I saw this contest!

I am really a newbie and beginner in digital art things (I just get into it for a half year) and barely practice it coz of school things
I saw so many cool submissions in the contest folder. But I think I should give it a try 

So... The most difficult part in this picture actually is making the background for the quotes and that square checkers. It took forever for me.

So if I have to describe this picture...

As you see, they're Kaneki(s). A protagonist from Tokyo Ghoul whom go through a really dark, hard, and painful life after being a ghoul and ended up deceased by Arima.
His life is a perfect tragedy even from his childhood days until he became a fresh, new man which is named Sasaki Haise.
Thinking that he can be closer to the girl he likes, but ended up almost be eaten by her.

Kaneki, who is a victim of Dr. Kanou's experiment turned into a ghoul after the surgery. He couldn't accept his ghoul side and still want to be a human even he can't eat any human foods anymore except coffee.  
He later joined Anteiku and start his brand new life and nearly got a happy life. Because of his mask, he got nickname from CCG called "Eyepatch / Gantai".  
After being tortured by Yamori for ten days, his hair turned white. His nails turned black. And his personality changed from a gentle and soft man to be a sadistic and cold one.  
Then he finally accepted his ghoul side and left humanity. Later he faced Arima and he barely touched Arima. Both of his eyes got stabbed by Arima and look like a dead, empty minded beings.
Arima raised him to be a ghoul investigator named Sasaki Haise who lost his memories of his past, dark life.
Kaneki is hidden deep in Haise's mind, and seem like he takes back Haise's consciousness in the latest chapter of Tokyo Ghoul:re.

That monotone checker is the floor of Yamori's hobby room (the place where Kaneki is tortured). It appears again in Tokyo Ghoul:re when Kaneki talked to Haise in his mind.
I really like Tokyo Ghoul plot, story, and characters. The story telling is also awesome and I am super addicted to it.

The most interesting thing when Tokyo Ghoul:re started is...
First we wanted Kaneki comes back (some peoples thought that Haise is completely a new character when the others already screamed like "IT IS 100% KANEKI" from chapter 1--- or even before it)  
But later (especially before and in the auction) peoples come to love Sasaki Haise as a separated person from Kaneki Ken. Peoples started to feel Sasaki Haise's sadness and pains. He is a lively young investigator who endured so many uneasiness for searching his real self, and he is scared to be faded and died. He wants to be alive and spend it with his family (Arima and Akira to be his parents and quinx to be his children? lol). And peoples started to wish for him to not disappear while they also still want Kaneki to comes back (I'm one of them).
